Optional Convention Activities

During EPA 2023, registered attendees will have four optional group activities. While three are free, the smorgasbord dinner is $30 per person. Advance registration is required for all activities. Check the activities you want to attend during the registration process or send an email to director@evangelicalpress.com to add an activity if you have already registered for the convention.

MCC Tour and Service Project

Wednesday, April 12 — 12:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. (free)

Early arrivals will have the opportunity to participate in a tour and service project at the Mennonite Central Committee’s Material Resources Center. Board a bus at the hotel and travel to the town of Ephrata, PA, where you witness firsthand the worldwide humanitarian work of MCC. Then put your hands to work preparing relief supplies for refugees.

Limited to 55 seats on the bus.

Sight & Sound Theatre Live Show

Thursday, April 13 — 2:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m (free)

Sight & Sound Theatre is providing complimentary tickets for all registered attendees to attend their live production of “MOSES.” Experience one of the most riveting Bible stories of the Old Testament as it comes to life with magnificent sets, special effects, and live animals in this original stage production.

From the banks of the Nile River to the depths of the Red Sea, MOSES is a spectacular entertainment experience for the whole family! Set adrift as a baby, he is an unlikely hero — until God calls him to lead His people out of Egypt and into the Promised Land. Journey with Moses as he ventures through the wilderness, encounters God at the burning bush, and ascends to the top of Mount Sinai.

Smorgasbord Dinner

Thursday, April 13 — 6:00 p.m. ($30 per person)

Following the Sight & Sound show, enjoy a sumptuous, all-you-can-eat smorgasbord at a Lancaster County smorgasbord restaurant. Enjoy classic Pennsylvania Dutch dishes and modern flavors. Savor original recipes, hot entrées, freshly prepared daily specials on the grill, a hot carving station, crisp salads and homemade soups on the soup, salad, gourmet bread & potato bar and desserts on the bakery fresh deluxe dessert bar. Dinner reservations are $30 and must be purchased in advance (with registration).

Those who do not sign up for the dinner will be bussed back to the hotel where they can enjoy dinner at one of many restaurants in downtown Lancaster.

Museum of the Bible Media Tour

Saturday, April 15 — 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (free)

Board a luxury coach for the 2-1/2 hour ride to Washington, D.C. and spend five hours in the Museum of the Bible exploring at your leisure with lunch provided complimentary by the Museum. The bus is expected to have you back in Lancaster by about 6:00 p.m.
